AI products and the ethical considerations around testing them
How do you practically get started with thinking about ethics in AI products? And how do you test for ethical outcomes you want?
If you are like most people, this topic may seem daunting. It can feel complex, difficult and overwhelming to think about ethics. Or it could be fun, creative and fulfilling. My aim is to make the case for the latter framing with this talk and invite you to explore this aspect of product development and testing with lots of curiosity, agency, power and courage. We'll look at practical tools, a framework for how to think about it and you'll walk away equipped with a practical starting point for conversations about ethics in your organization.
Nutzen für den Teilnehmer:
An easy approach to ethics in AI products that anyone can follow.
A framework to download and take back to your team so you can get started the next day.
An understanding how ethics can be a fun and fulfilling part of your job (rather than a difficult and draining one)
Behandelte Problemstellungen:
Product Testing Teams and Product Management Teams are busy. It may feel daunting to consider ethics in their busy weeks. My framework breaks this down into simple actionable steps any team can follow to consider ethics and compliance questions.
People are not necessarily trained in ethics and may feel like the nature of considering ethical questions is difficult and emotionally loaded. Making this a fun, creative exploration is a mindset shift that will make looking at ethics more likely.
Having considered ethical questions in the possible impact of our products is part of de-risking and compliance strategies and an essential part of building trustworthy and safe software experiences.
