Testing in regulated environments doesn't require heavy weight tools

Kurzbeschreibung

When testing in highly regulated environments, e.g. in the medical or automotive domain, unambiguous reporting of a/o requirements coverage and test results is not only good practice but mandatory in several cases. As a result, many projects choose a heavyweight process framework and accordingly heavy-weighted tooling to support such a framework.

In several projects I did, I learned however that it's fairly easy to use modern software development methods such as Agile and Scrum together with common developer tools or even freeware and open source tools, to create all the necessary documentation.

In this lecture I will show how this can be done using two examples from my own experience. One from the medical and one from the railways domain.
