Digital Testing. Human behavioral psychology driven, technology agnostics UI automation

Short description

We test what we can instead of what we want. We test applications in isolation because we have frameworks that only allow us to test certain technologies at once. We know or users have workflows that rely on multiple applications used in combination.

This talk shows you hands-on how a modern approach to testing, digital testing, breaks the barrier of systems by applying simple human behavior in day-to-day automations.

We've automated credit card transaction, fraud detection, medical device as well as simple SAP workflows with the same approach.

Yes, we will have some AI support, but it will not be our main focus.

Value for the audience:
- New approach to system & process testing based on UI Automation
- Extend UI automation with API automation for complete coverage of complex scenarios
- How to involve the business in test automation

Problems addressed:
How not enough compute power led us to a situation in which we settled with the only viable option 20 years ago. A solution which was perfect at the time of its invention, might still be good enough but doesn't age well.

Testing based on visual cues seems to be a simple solution to the problem. It is not. Specifically for more complex scenarios. We need to understand human behavior and how we need to adapt visual frameworks to provide reliable testing.
