In November 2024, Anthropic introduced the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Think of it as a USB connector for AI. Suddenly, connecting models to applications got simple. OpenAI, under heavy pressure, quickly adopted it too. What started as a new idea turned almost overnight into a market standard.

What does this mean for testing? It means we can start running entire testing workflows (analysis, design, automation, bug reporting) directly through AI agents. It also means testers can “team up” with agents and guide them through a chat-like interface instead of fighting complex tools.
