Already during their studies, Martin Huter and Ardit Ymeri started first steps at Splendit It-Consulting GmbH to resolve the semantic representation of computer languages.
They also analysed legacy languages (like Cobol and PL/1) and methods how to measure software quality and find out various code smells or coding improvements. This work was the basis for transforming a legacy codebase into Java.
This essential knowledge of software quality measurement and transformation methods founded the basics of their research for automatic Java issue determination and code refactoring patterns. Both Martin and Ardit can be seen as experts in the field of software quality and code refactoring.
